Larry Lewis has accepted the offer to join the administration at Barclay College as the V.P. for Institutional Advancement. Larry began his public school teaching career at USD 474 Haviland, Kansas in 1978. During that time he taught PE, successfully coached girls volleyball, boys basketball, and boys tennis.

Larry then began a lengthy career at Friends Christian Schools, Yorba Linda, CA where he taught PE in grades 5 – 8, served as assistant principal for 15 years and as principle 3 years. This year will end twenty five years of service to Friends Christian Schools.

Larry received his B.S. in Christian Education from Fort Wayne Bible College, a B.S. in Physical Education from Friends University, and his M.S. from Wichita State University. Larry also plays a mean trumpet.

Larry’s strengths are administration and organization. He enjoys bicycling, singing, basketball, and softball. Larry and Sheryl have three grown children who all reside in the southern California area. His life mission statement is Ps. 119:10. He and Sheryl’s parents both live in Wichita KS, so this is a bit of a homecoming for them in several ways. When people who know Larry describe him there is always one word used to describe him – integrity.

Larry and Sheryl will be on campus during the graduation and alumni weekend, May 3 – 5. They anticipate moving to Haviland in August to be in place next fall.
